I should have posted an update telling folks that it was cancelled, but I am at the shore on vacation! Sorry!! It was cancelled due to lack of participation. I am not very surprised considering it was scheduled for a Friday - and split into two pieces. So folks who couldn’t take a full day of work off wouldn’t be able to make it to both parts, and folks who couldn’t get a half day couldn’t go at all. I hope the Nationals learn from this and schedule for a Saturday next year like in the past (and in my personal opinion, they should have it in September like they did the first year, not in the middle of the summer).

A Nationals Journal poster reported today that the event had been cancelled (she heard via Twitter). The community page on the team site has a note to that effect. Doesn’t appear to be any sort of press release or news item by the team as to why.

This sounds wonderful. If it wasn’t a Friday, I would come down for this!

And - no player’s wives!!!!! Finally, someone *gets it* - that being a woman and liking baseball doesn’t mean we want to marry a baseball player.
