The Nationals are again – watchable, and less pathetic than they were ten minutes ago.
Today, Chico Harlan reports that the Nationals have reached a 2 year agreement with Adam Dunn.
Dunn joins Jim Bowden’s DC collection of former Reds, as well as former teammate and friend Austin Kearns.
Dunn, 29, is a power hitting lefty who can play first base and replace the beloved but fragile Nick Johnson.
He’s hit 40 home runs in each of the past 5 seasons, though he hit many of them in tiny Great American Ball Park. While he strikes out a ton, he also walks a lot.
Dunn will (hopefully) provide some badly needed offense for the team.
No word on the exact terms, though you’d have to guess it’s somewhere between 16 and 22 million? Guess we’ll find out soon.
It’s a beautiful day in Nats Town.
