So, I need your help. I spent much of my weekend making a Manny Acta pattern and then carving it out. I turned the World Series off only when I worked on the nose, which I was afraid I’d cut off if something crazy happened. I had guidance and support from Stephanie and my summer baseball family. Without advice from Danielle and Denise, I surely would have detached one of the important parts of Manny’s face. Luckily, it all worked.
Here are all the photos I was able to take. Which one do you like best? Which one should I submit to the Nationals contest?
You have until tomorrow, October 28 at 5 PM, to submit your pumpkins. And you can download cool Nationals themed patterns here.

That is un-freakin’-canny. If that’s the kind of competition I have to face, I’ll never take knife to pumpkin again.
Oh, and Slideshow Pic #1 gets my vote. Just the right combination of detail and ghoulish aura.

Impressive — I’d submit this one for the contest. Oh and can I borrow it Wednesday? I want to win my office potluck pumpkin carving competition.

Wow, that is pretty awesome. I like Pic #8, I think it shows the detail best.

I was gonna do a Bowden pumpkin but it would be a waste of time cuz as soon as i finished i would go after it with my Louisville Slugger.

WFY - You can borrow it, but I have to tell you it’s already starting to look like he suffered a 100 loss season. We might be able to work some magic to it.
Rob - Hilarious. Just think of how good it would have felt to take a bat to it.

Foul witchery! What devil’s work did you conjur up to trap Manny’s soul inside of a pumpkin?!

I agree with WFY and would use #9 (PA250876) because it shows off the design the best with the different “layers” or shading and has the right amount of glow.

I was joking, well mostly, about borrowing the pumpkin. Good luck in the contest. I’ll probably attempt a curly W for work/home.

They pick the top 5 at 5 pm today and then voting is open until Friday. I’ll put up the links. Our friend Danielle made a spectacular Bang! Zoom! Another Curly W in the books pumpkin! I’ll try to get pictures of that one too.

Manny got my vote.
Gotta think Teddy’s gonna get a lot of love. However, perhaps his two entries will split the vote in favor of a challenger, not unlike the presidential election of 1912.
