With the Orioles on a 6 game streak sitting atop the AL East and the Tigers poised to lose to the Red Sox and drop to 0-7, this is definately the beginning of a crazy season.  A quick look at today’s Mets vs Phillies game was a bit strange too.  After posting this morning about missing our defensive catcher, it appears that Brian Schneider was charged with 2 passed balls in a single game this afternoon.  Additionally, Chase Utley was hit three times by pitches.  Three times — the AP says he tied a MLB record.  You’ll recall that Lannan hit him once and was tossed (although Lannan broke his hand).  Today, he was hit twice by Oliver Perez and once by Scott Schoeneweis.  Maybe Utley needs to back off the plate!
