Ted Lerner is featured in the June issue of the Washingtonian. The article details Lerner’s humble beginnings on Georgia Avenue to his empire today. The article tells of Lerner serving as an usher at the all-star game when Dizzy Dean was hit on the foot by a line drive and hours spent at Griffth Stadium watching Senator’s games and old greats like Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig and Ted Williams. It was great reading about Lerner- a self-made man with a true love for baseball. Purchasing the Nationals was a risk, but also a labor of love.
